Traditional beer house in unusual semi-circular Victorian building, very handy for the railway station. Open fire in winter. Refurbished with a modern feel. Projector TV for major sporting events.Homemade snacks are available.Serves own beers from the Brewshed brewery which was originally behind pub (but relocated out of town during 2016). Three other local pubs are also owned by same company.

Five beer engines provide an ever-changing selection of well-kept Real Ales, along with ten craft beer and three real ciders. Regular beer festivals and annual cider festival.

Historic Interest

Listed in St Andrews st in 1861. Listed in 1874 as 24 Tay-Fen Rd. A report in the Ipswich Journal** in Aug 1880 states that : Died on the 13th, Ann S Stevenson aged 38, wife of William Stevenson, Ipswich Arms, Bury. Changed name to the Gaff (in late 2007) & then to Bar Curvo (mid 2009). Was subsequently closed "until further notice" from May 2010.
