NOTE - There is a large oversize handpump on the bar, it is a fake handpump serving Brewery Conditioned keg beer NOT a Cask Conditioned Beer. Carlsberg choose to market this as Fresh Ale! The pub is best accessed from A676 Wigan Road to avoid lengthy 20 mph ring road which goes round this sprawling estate where the pub is located.
