Asset of Community Value

Mid to late 18th century red brick pub which retains many old fittings from at least the interwar period, possibly earlier.Colourful Victorian tiled floor in entrance passage. The original four room layout is still visible with a former pool area on the front right; an opened-up area on the front left; and a still separate snug at the rear right. The three-bay mirrored bar back is from the interwar period or earlier with only a third of lower shelves remaining, the rest lost to fridges. The panelled bar counter is from the interwar period or earlier, facing two sides. Much Victorian fixed seating remains along with some old dado panelling and bell pushes. The opened-up left-hand area has a marble and tiled fireplace and Victorian fixed seating down both sides. The little-used small snug has more fixed seating and an old fireplace but is mainly used for storage. The former pool area is now the food storage area for food parcels that are made for the local community. Modernised toilets.
