The pub closed on 19 January 2026. Village Blue Sky Limited (a Community Benefit Society) was registered to make a bid for the pub. The freehold of the pub was purchased from Fuller's on 8 June 2026, with over 200 shareholders (members of the society). A team of volunteers restored the pub.
