With a name that harks back to Bristol's once thriving mining industry (check out the sculpture on the side of the pub which commemorates a nearby pit disaster) this is a popular and deceptively large community pub with an impressive walled beer garden at the rear. Inside the L shaped bar there is room for darts, pool and regular live music, as well as sport on TV.
