This Pub is Closed Long Term

*** Currently closed and planning permission has been submitted to Aberdeenshire Council to convert bar to 2 flats. CAMRA and several local residents have submitted objections to the plans. It is not yet known when a decision will be made by the council. ***

The interior of this historic nautical-themed inn featured in the film Local Hero. It has a wood-panelled bar and lounge with sea views through the small windows with a fine view across the mouth of the Deveron to Macduff. A blocked carriage arch hints at the earlier history of the building.

Banff Marina, Duff House Gallery (National Gallery of Scotland) and Macduff Aquarium are close by, as are several golf courses.

Bar snacks are served all day. Karaoke and live music feature at weekends.

Due to dwindling sales, no ale had been available since July 2017 and handpump finally removed November 2017.
