London's historic pubs get their recognition

Release date: March 03, 2026

A book cover with a photo of a pub interior, with wooden panbelling and a long wooden bar. Ornate windows, mirrors, stained glass and lighting are shown.

London’s Real Heritage Pubs, published by CAMRA, is a guide to 249 pubs in Greater London which have interiors of special historic interest.

Most pubs have seen their interiors altered and modernised beyond all recognition; but this vital book identifies and cherishes those that have retained historic fittings, décor and layout. Thoroughly researched, this guide book is perfect for anyone who enjoys traditional, historic pubs and wants to know where in London to find them.

The 220-page book is the latest in a national series describing pubs with historic interiors. As well as individual pub descriptions it also contains informative articles which explain the significance of London’s pub heritage.

Illustrated with colour photographs, the book has been edited by Neil Pettigrew and Rex Ward.
