Join a local tasting panel
Ever wanted to taste beer like a pro?
We are looking for volunteers to join local CAMRA Tastings Panels, which run across the country. Tasting Panels help us decide which beers go forward in CAMRA’s Champion Beer of Britain competition and write the beer descriptions for our landmark Good Beer Guide.
They’re also a great way to socialise with your local branch and improve your knowledge and expertise in the drink you love.
Check below to get involved and find training taking place near you!

What’s involved?
Tasting Panels can be done individually or with your branch at a social or brewery tour. All you need to do is fill out tasting cards for beers that you try in your local pubs at your leisure! Your input helps us decide which beers go on in the Champion Beer of Britain competition and put together descriptions for CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide.
What is the training?
The first step is to undertake basic training to help you taste beer like a pro. At the end of training, you will be asked to complete 12 tasting cards over 12 weeks to gain a Certificate of Competence, which is independently accredited by People First, Part of the Hospitality Guild.
Who do I contact?
If you want to get involved, simply contact volunteer.services@camra.org.uk and we will link you up with your regional tasting panel co-ordinator to confirm local training session and events near you!
