Reopened under new management 11th December 2024. Some of the details here may be out of date. A large family pub, with outside seating and a large car park. Limited selection of beers now (January 2025) but will grow with the pub. The pub is situated on the corner of Hill Lane and Archers Road is within easy walking distance of the city centre. There are 12 letting rooms in the pub and these will be used for letting once refurbished. Again, once the kitchen has been refurbished the place will be open for Breakfast, lunch and dinners.

Report 22nd February 2025 suggests it may be closed again.

Historic Interest

The pub used to be the closest to Southampton FC's old football stadium, the Dell. Historically, the story goes that Winston Churchill once stayed here, but whether true or not his image now appears in the pub's signage.
