This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Prince Regent was a town centre pub that traded from 1843 to 1970, when it was sacrificed, together with many of the surrounding buildings, to make way for a car park. Its exact location in relation to the other streets that were bulldozed at the same time is unknown and further information would be welcome.

Like many pubs in the area, it had been part of the tied estate of the local Russell's brewery, passing to Truman's on takeover in 1930.
