Train and coach travel
York is ideally situated on the East Coast line – so you can travel easily down from Edinburgh and up from London alike, as well as from Leeds and other mainline stations.
By booking rail tickets several weeks beforehand, you can make some significant savings.
If you’ve not already got a Railcard – there are many available offering up to 50% off travel – it’s worth investigating and you can ask at your local station which the best may be for you.
Other ways to save on rail fares include checking various routes or buying separate tickets for each section of your route (splitting your journey) Ask at your local station or book direct through the train operator/s.
All CAMRA members can get 20% of coach travel with National Express. Find out more here.
